I Don't Know
I don't exactly know what life has in store for me. She says not to get upset because it will only hurt her and i dont want that so I'll try my damnedest to keep it in. I hope she knows how much I love her and still do, the fact that we are "over" doesn't change that. Like I said tonight, it's not like I can just fall out of love with her because i know i can't and I can't lie to myself and try that will just make things worse. I guess this means more time with the band and surrounding myself with people because that will make me think of her less....not that I want to quit thinking of her that would be impossible, but the more time I'm alone the more and more the fact she is no longer mine hurts me. Who knew it would hurt this much? This was my first and my only Love and I honestly don't want to move on and find someone new. I can't because no one will ever compare to her.

Good Times Well Sort Of.
Tonight was ok, I mean yes hanging with the original "Boyz" two of my best friends in the world was awesome. Not to mention Jeff and Zach (two of my other best friends) came along for the ride and it was good hanging. But after a Wendy's stop I puked in the parking lot, i knew this would eventually happen considering i haven't been feeling exactly on my game all day. I tried to tough it out and watch Iron Man anyway but it didn't work so well. So here i sit waiting on my girlfriend to call so I can fall asleep with someone else who loves me. I have no shortage of friends and certainly no shortage on a girl who loves me, she is all i ever want or need. But to say the least being sick doesn't make a night any better.
Ps- Hascal n Stokes cranked out two count em two new songs this week! Now us Rooster boys must complete the task of taming these suckers in a full band format.

New Stuff
Well, me and the Rooster boys finished the recording of what is in my opinion our best complete song to date and we entered in the music city madness sweepstakes with CMT, so keep your fingers crossed for that. Life is going pretty well right now, music is good, and my girlfriend is the absolute best i could not ask for anything more. I love her and i love life although it is wearing me down quickly.

Geez
I hate writer's block, this happens alot before i stumble on something I really like. O well, part of the whole songwriting thing I guess. Until something comes to fruition I will continue listening to Alan Jackson, The Punch Brothers, The Notorious Cherry Bombs, and Gram Parsons........something good is bound to come.

It Always Gets Harder
Man, this semester is already killing me. Oh well it's just a part of life I guess. Life in general is good though, I couldn't ask for a better girlfriend everyday with her is better than the one before and the band is starting to really mesh well. I have some ideas for new songs that are hopefully gonna spew from my brain to paper very soon.
Also I say this alot but Vince Gill is one of my favorite people of All Time. One of the best active singer/songwriters in country music. Vince, Alan, Rodney Crowell, and Merle are probally the best right now in my opinion.

Wow, Labor on Labor Day
I totally didnt get a break on Labor Day. I worked on a paper all day, well not really all day i took a break and wrote a song for my girlfriend for our anniversary. 1 month!!!!! I gotta say I am so thankful for her and how happy she makes me.
Yea so I wrote an extensive essay for music history, and then had to go to the studio and work for some hours and then came back and got lunch/dinner around 10pm did more homework then finally settled down to talk to my girlfriend around 1am my time. Then after we fell asleep I woke up around 7:30am to go to class, and now I have another crazy day. Hopefully I will find some time for a lunch break today.

This Semester
This semester is shaping up to be a real doozy. Oh the life of a musician, I guess what doesn't kill me can only make me stronger in the long run. As this semester progresses I'm sure to know what I'm really made of, it is going to test me mentally, physically, spiritually, and some other ways I'm unsure of as of yet. But as long as I have God, family, my girlfriend, my band, and my other best friends outside of the band I'm sure everything will be ok. The Good Lord never said life would be a cakewalk. We all have trials and tests to go through and how we handle them when they come and where we end up after they are done is what makes us who we are.

So Far
This semester has been crazy and i know i'll get busier and busier as it progresses, but no one ever said life would be stress-free and easy........that is certainly not the case, but a little stress and work never hurt anyone, you just gotta learn how to prioritize. I guess in the long run all this work and stuff will pay off, I certainly hope so.
Now a trip down music row, I LOVE Gram Parsons and every project or thing he ever did. He was such a talent taken way before his time. He was like the John Lennon of country music I think, a little less folk than Dylan but if you are a songwriter in country or rock music Gram Parsons probally somehow influenced you. If you say he didn't start listening to him, the byrds, the flying burrito brothers, and the international submarine band. They will change you and your songwriting for the better. Also Mute Rooster is going strong and growing as a band we have some really exciting stuff we can't wait to share with the world. Me and Will also have fallen in love with the album "A Taste of Yesterday's Wine" by Merle Haggard and George Jones, its so good. In closing the two best performing singer/songwriters in country music right now in my opinion are Alan Jackson (I mean come on!) and Merle Haggard, who like a fine wine only gets better with time.

well,
i'm pretty sure no one reads this, but i still post because this gives me an out to say what i want about how i feel in hopes that it might catch the interest of some and possibly help others. well, first off yesterday was the absolute day from hell, just crazy and made me madder than i have been in quite sometime. but so far today is tons better, i really feel like i am gonna write something tonight, i just feel like i am, hopefully i will make that a reality sometime tonight.
speaking of reality, i wished some people i know would take a reality check and realize they are wasting their lives. i mean i can tell them what i see and they would proally get mad at me for telling them how to live their life. but o well, if you want to waste your life go right ahead, but just remember there is a huge difference between dreams and reality, and faltering and stability. and eventually you will fall flat on your face and life is gonna kick you hard while you're down.

So What If I Fell Off The Face Of The Earth?
When my life comes to a close what are my goals for I achieve over the course of my life? First and foremost and I want to Glorify Christ with the life I have lived. And secondly I want to write some songs that people will be singing years after I'm gone, I want to make a change somehow. And by that I will also give God Glory through my talent he has given me. Thank You God! for every breathe you let me take. May I glorify you in every aspect of my life someway. Although I'm not perfect you love me anyway.

Good Stuff
So I've lately been finding some incredible albums, I mean most critics agree with me lol, but now I see why they are so great.
Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars by David Bowie
Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Exile on Mainstreet and Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Angels of Destruction by Marah
These are just a few of the newer ones I got, I got more Dylan albums that are great too but this one sticks out the most and also of course if you know me, you my favorite band is The Beatles so of course I have all their British albums which are all incredible.

A New Chapter
Yesterday I turned 20......thanks to all who wished me a happy birthday, it made me happy. But i try to avoid all the birthday hype, i guess im kinda running from the fact that another decade in my life is over and I'm no longer a teen. When I was 16 or 17 I was honestly hoping I'd be living in Nashville making money off my music by the time I was 20. But things don't always turn out how you want, it takes time and patience.
I'm not giving up on my goals and dreams I'm still pursuing them hard and hopefully one day I'll get there. But a new exciting chapter in my life has begun, so let's see where this one goes!
PS- 19 brought about alot of change, i mean alot. I'm sure 20 will be the same way.

Tonight
After Carpenter's I came back to school and went to mess with a studio recording project some more. I must say ProTools is the jam! I mean I love Garageband.....but ProTools is basically it's bigger brother. Great Times, I'm looking forward to the stuff that will come from this!
Also I bought "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" by:David Bowie last night, and I must say it is incredible!

Ecity 1-26-08
Tonight's show went well........not the biggest crowd ever, but it was a good crowd none the less....people that were there were there for music. And they got great music from both Chelsey and Wes....kudos to those guys for being incredible. Im not saying they're weren't alot of ppl there bc it was pretty crowded and it honestly is not about the numbers, so I was more than pleased.....thank you to each and everyone of you for sticking around and listening that meant alot to me and I'm sure Chelsey and Wes feel the same.
As always hanging out afterwards with Nick and Wes was a blast. Thanks guys for being good people. I honestly felt better vocally tonight than I have in a very very long time.......thats very exciting for me, but thats enough about me......great show.
And again THANK YOU to everyone who showed up, you are what made it a good show!

Juno
Not a bad flick......i dont think it's best picture material. But Ellen Page definately deserves best actress. Because she truly made that movie good, I did enjoy it though. I thought August Rush overall ws better and I'm still waiting to see Sweeney Todd and also No Country For Old Men. I dont see enough movies.

The Heat is On
The Ecity show is a few days away and I'm actually nervous about this one......I hope people like the new stuff.....in fact i just hope people show up, this is a huge point for me personally in my music. But other than my complaints life is good, and music theory homework from 11:30 to 12:30 is always a tedious task. But i got it done and I'll make it through.

Wednesday Night News
I never noticed the diversity in a youth group until tonight at The Carpenter's Church. It is a small youth group that is expanding and rapidly, i must say tonight was fun just sitting and listening to kids from so many different walks of life come together and talk about anything together. I honestly felt this is what God intended....people from every walk of life coming together with one common thread Jesus.
Wow, God is good. I am playing saturday night at Ecity Java in Anderson, I'm really stoked because I'm premiering 3 new songs, it has been killing me because some have been done for a while but i felt like I needed to wait on this show, I hope it goes well and it should be a fun time.
