Tonight

After Carpenter's I came back to school and went to mess with a studio recording project some more. I must say ProTools is the jam! I mean I love Garageband.....but ProTools is basically it's bigger brother. Great Times, I'm looking forward to the stuff that will come from this!

Also I bought "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" by:David Bowie last night, and I must say it is incredible!

Ecity 1-26-08

Tonight's show went well........not the biggest crowd ever, but it was a good crowd none the less....people that were there were there for music. And they got great music from both Chelsey and Wes....kudos to those guys for being incredible. Im not saying they're weren't alot of ppl there bc it was pretty crowded and it honestly is not about the numbers, so I was more than pleased.....thank you to each and everyone of you for sticking around and listening that meant alot to me and I'm sure Chelsey and Wes feel the same.

As always hanging out afterwards with Nick and Wes was a blast. Thanks guys for being good people. I honestly felt better vocally tonight than I have in a very very long time.......thats very exciting for me, but thats enough about me......great show.

And again THANK YOU to everyone who showed up, you are what made it a good show!

Not a bad flick......i dont think it's best picture material. But Ellen Page definately deserves best actress. Because she truly made that movie good, I did enjoy it though. I thought August Rush overall ws better and I'm still waiting to see Sweeney Todd and also No Country For Old Men. I dont see enough movies.

The Heat is On

The Ecity show is a few days away and I'm actually nervous about this one......I hope people like the new stuff.....in fact i just hope people show up, this is a huge point for me personally in my music. But other than my complaints life is good, and music theory homework from 11:30 to 12:30 is always a tedious task. But i got it done and I'll make it through.

Wednesday Night News

I never noticed the diversity in a youth group until tonight at The Carpenter's Church. It is a small youth group that is expanding and rapidly, i must say tonight was fun just sitting and listening to kids from so many different walks of life come together and talk about anything together. I honestly felt this is what God intended....people from every walk of life coming together with one common thread Jesus.

Wow, God is good. I am playing saturday night at Ecity Java in Anderson, I'm really stoked because I'm premiering 3 new songs, it has been killing me because some have been done for a while but i felt like I needed to wait on this show, I hope it goes well and it should be a fun time.

Really? Are You for Real?

Everything was going fine, i feel like my life is moving on and i feel like you never hold me back anymore. Then all of a sudden what happens? Your name is mentioned in casual conversation or i just see a pic of you somewhere. Dang, why? I just don't know why I let this get to me. I know we would never have worked.......but the fact we never tried and the thoughts of what could have been will always haunt me.

I've put this to rest, but you're the ghost that stills haunts me, just bringing a little turmoil to my peaceful existence. But i know I am doing this to myself.......why do i do this to myself?

So.......

I feel like I'm missing something that was supposed to do tonight. O, well it must not be that important. Anyways besides the freakishly cold weather today it was good. But I start Studio Recording tomorrow night and I'm so pumped about that! Hopefully this means I will get some good tracks put out soon I'm really really excited about it!

So hopefully soon the new songs will be done and in a good quality. Im stoked about that.

The 26th

Ecity the 26th

I hope everyone comes out to Ecity Java on January 26th to the show......not because I'm playing, because in the grand scheme of things am I really that important? No.....but you should come check out local talented singer/songwriters. Of course Wes will be taking the stage along with a lady named Chelsey Ashford(please forgive spelling) who is an awesome talent. Both are top friends on my page.

I would love for alot of people to come out to also hear me play 3 brand new songs! Maybe 4 by this weekend haha, well if its there its there. One of the songs has been played once live, but the second verse wasnt completed so now the song is completely ready to go along with 2 others (not to mention a new cover or two).

This has been a great month or so of self-reflection and time for to think about things that have happened to me and also how I feel about the world and the condition of its people. I am hoping for a large crowd, because it is going to be a fun filled night of music and hangout time. By the way I cant thank people enough for coming to site and listening to the music as much and as often as you do, it really really means alot! thanks!

Lesson number 1 and some hot jamz

Great first lesson back with Lyman.....as usual put alot on my plate, but im a big boy and hopefully will be able to handle it. Things that challenge always find a way to make you stronger.

All three are great picks that i consider must haves now that I own them. If you've never heard of any of the artists get on the ball.

Also if you like Ben Lee and Against Me! you will love Ben Lee Sings New Wave, it is him doing an acoustic version of that entire album and it is great. It's been out for a while and i dk if it is still availble for free in his blog, but it is always worth a shot!

So Far this Week

I like Finale Notepad.....it's cool, and also I wrote 2 new songs!!!! Im exicted about that, hopefully I will actually record them soon....I'll keep you posted. myspace.com/mourningformorgan has all the updates on shows and junk.

Well, I'm now a twitterer too....so if you stalk ppl via twitter I am now someone else you may stalk, although sometimes doing that might not be interesting although sometimes it might be quite exciting. o well whatever your preference i guess.

Listening to the new Marah album, "Angels of Destruction!" these guys are some of the best writers I've heard in a long time....great piece of music!
